How we deliver to Germany

Germany is a full-truck or container destination. By road the distance from Skopje is roughly 1,800 to 2,000 km, through Serbia, Hungary and Austria or through Croatia, Slovenia and Austria, and a truck typically needs several days; the exact transit is confirmed in the quotation. A full 13.6 m truck carries about 33 Euro pallets, and groupage is possible for a first order of a few pallets.

For large or recurring volumes a 20 ft or 40 ft container can be shipped from Thessaloniki, about 230 km from Skopje, to Hamburg or Bremerhaven, or trucked onward from Thessaloniki. Incoterms are agreed per order, from EXW Skopje to delivered at your warehouse in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg or the Ruhr.

Customs and documents for Germany

Ask your customs representative to confirm the classification, origin documents and import requirements for the actual goods and destination. Dispatch from Skopje does not, by itself, prove North Macedonian origin or establish a preferential duty rate.

Before ordering, agree the invoice, packing list, transport document and any additional product, traceability or safety documents required for your shipment. The broker and carrier should confirm clearance or transit arrangements and responsibilities before loading.

Who buys from us in Germany

Holzkohle and Grillkohle in Germany are bought on paper first. Importers and retail chains want a written specification with indicative burn time and fixed carbon, an answer on EN 1860-2, the European standard for barbecue charcoal, and a private-label option for their shelves. We provide the specification as indicative figures, discuss EN 1860-2 without claiming certification, and print own-brand bags on request.

The Turkish-German restaurant segment, döner and ocakbaşı houses in Berlin, the Ruhr and Frankfurt, favours long-burning Marabu (indicatively up to around 7 hours, varying by lot). Steakhouses ask for Steakhousekohle, large pieces with high heat, and we say which types in the current range fit that request. Supermarkets stock charcoal briquettes and lump charcoal in 2 to 10 kg bags with German labels. The range is subject to availability and includes oak, beech and acacia among others.

What to include in your enquiry

Send the product, the quantity in pallets, trucks or containers, the bag size, the delivery address in Germany, the Incoterm you prefer, your target date, your private-label artwork requirements and the specifications your quality team needs to see. Virovo Promet confirms in writing the availability, the net load, the packaging, the documents for the lot and the terms, and sends indicative figures marked as typical values that vary by lot.

Virovo Promet is a family-owned charcoal wholesaler in Skopje, North Macedonia, founded in 1990, exporting full-container loads of hardwood charcoal across Europe and beyond. Everyone is welcome at the Skopje office and warehouse, Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 16:00, and a video call in English is the practical alternative for a first meeting.

How long does a truck take from Skopje to Germany?

The road distance is roughly 1,800 to 2,000 km and a truck typically needs several days. The exact transit and loading date are confirmed in the quotation.

Do you provide EN 1860-2 test reports?

EN 1860-2 is the European quality standard for barbecue charcoal and we can discuss what it requires, but we do not claim certification. Tell us what your buyer needs and we say what we can document for the lot.

Are you ready for EUDR?

EUDR applies to wood charcoal from 30 December 2026 for large and medium operators, from 30 June 2027 for most micro and small operators, with exceptions. We discuss the due-diligence information for each order and make no compliance claim.

Can you deliver private-label Grillkohle to a German retail chain?

Yes. Own-brand bags in 2 to 10 kg with German labels are available on request, with extra lead time, and are quoted per order.

Container or truck for Germany?

Both work. Trucks suit recurring pallet loads; containers via Hamburg or Bremerhaven suit large volumes. We quote whichever fits your order.
