Wholesale charcoal for Romania

Virovo Promet supplies hardwood charcoal and briquettes to Romania by pallet, full truck or container, quoted per order. Buyers are restaurants, distributors, retail chains and heating-briquette customers in Bucharest, Timișoara, Cluj and Constanța. Trucks travel through Bulgaria and cross the Danube at the Ruse–Giurgiu bridge for Bucharest, or through Serbia when that suits the delivery point, for example Timișoara.

How we deliver to Romania

Road freight is the standard route to Romania. For Bucharest and the east, trucks leave Skopje, transit Bulgaria and cross the Danube at the Ruse–Giurgiu bridge; for Timișoara, Cluj and the west, the route through Serbia can be shorter, and we choose it with the forwarder when we quote. Full 13.6 m trucks carry about 33 Euro pallets; groupage is available for a few pallets.

Constanța is a container port, so a 20 ft or 40 ft container can be routed there for a large order, though road is the usual choice for Romania. Transit is a few days by road and is confirmed in the quotation together with the loading date. Incoterms are agreed per order, from EXW Skopje to delivered at your warehouse.

Customs and documents for Romania

Ask your customs representative to confirm the classification, origin documents and import requirements for the actual goods and destination. Dispatch from Skopje does not, by itself, prove North Macedonian origin or establish a preferential duty rate.

Before ordering, agree the invoice, packing list, transport document and any additional product, traceability or safety documents required for your shipment. The broker and carrier should confirm clearance or transit arrangements and responsibilities before loading.

Who buys from us in Romania

Grătar is a national pastime in Romania, and cărbune pentru grătar sells through restaurants, distributors and retail chains. Restaurants with long service ask for Marabu (indicatively up to around 7 hours of burn, varying by lot); classic grătar restaurants often prefer oak or beech lump charcoal. Retail chains in Bucharest, Cluj and Timișoara take lump charcoal and charcoal briquettes in 2, 3, 5 and 10 kg bags with Romanian labels, and briquettes are the usual supermarket choice for even, predictable heat.

Romania is also a heating market, so distributors ask for wood briquettes for stoves and boilers ahead of winter, and we quote them together with grill charcoal. Private-label bags for a chain or a distributor's brand are available on request. The range is subject to availability and includes acacia among others.

What to include in your enquiry

Send the product, the quantity in bags, pallets, trucks or containers, the bag size, the delivery address in Romania, the Incoterm you prefer, your target date and any private-label needs. For a mixed order of grill charcoal and heating briquettes, list both and we quote one load where it makes sense. Virovo Promet confirms in writing the availability, the net load, the packaging, the documents for the lot and the terms.

Virovo Promet is a family-owned charcoal wholesaler in Skopje, North Macedonia, founded in 1990, exporting full-container loads of hardwood charcoal across Europe and beyond. Everyone is welcome at the Skopje office and warehouse, Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 16:00, or we can hold a video call in English.

Which route do trucks take to Bucharest?

Through Bulgaria, crossing the Danube at the Ruse–Giurgiu bridge. For Timișoara and the west the route through Serbia may be used. Route and transit are confirmed in the quotation.

Can you ship a container to Constanța?

Yes, for a large order. Sea shipments follow IMDG rules for UN 1361 Class 4.2. Road is simpler for most Romanian orders.

Do you supply heating briquettes to Romania?

Yes. Wood briquettes for stoves and boilers can be quoted with grill charcoal, subject to availability.

Is the charcoal duty-free in Romania?

Have your customs representative verify the current tariff and any applicable preference for the exact product and origin. We confirm the available origin documents for the actual lot; shipment from Skopje alone is not proof of preferential origin.

Can we get Romanian labels or our own brand?

Yes. Multilingual labels are standard, and private-label bags are available on request for most types, with extra lead time.
