Serbia, by road
Wholesale charcoal for Serbia
Virovo Promet supplies hardwood charcoal and briquettes to Serbia by pallet, full truck or container, quoted per order. Typical buyers are ćevapi grill houses, kafane, restaurant suppliers, distributors and retail chains in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš. Trucks leave Skopje and cross at Tabanovce–Preševo on Corridor X, the E75 that runs straight up to Belgrade.
How we deliver to Serbia
Road freight is the standard way to Serbia. A full 13.6 m truck takes about 33 Euro pallets and runs from Skopje through the Tabanovce–Preševo crossing on Corridor X, then north on the E75 towards Niš, Belgrade and Novi Sad. Smaller lots travel as groupage, with your pallets sharing a trailer, which is a practical way to start with one or a few pallets before moving to full loads.
Transit is a few days by road and is confirmed in the quotation together with the loading date. Incoterms are agreed per order, from EXW Skopje to delivered at your warehouse. Serbia is also our transit corridor for onward deliveries to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Hungary, so combined loads can be discussed.
Customs and documents for Serbia
Ask your customs representative to confirm the classification, origin documents and import requirements for the actual goods and destination. Dispatch from Skopje does not, by itself, prove North Macedonian origin or establish a preferential duty rate.
Before ordering, agree the invoice, packing list, transport document and any additional product, traceability or safety documents required for your shipment. The broker and carrier should confirm clearance or transit arrangements and responsibilities before loading.
Who buys from us in Serbia
Serbia is a grill country. Ćevapi cooked over ćumur are everyday food, and the roštilj season stretches from spring well into autumn. Our buyers there fall into three groups: grill houses and kafane that burn charcoal every day, restaurant suppliers and distributors who deliver to them, and retail chains that stock drveni ugalj for home use.
Restaurants with long service hours usually ask for Marabu, which burns for up to around 7 hours, indicative and varying by lot. Classic ćevapi grills tend to prefer oak or beech lump charcoal. Retail chains take charcoal briquettes in 2 to 10 kg bags, with Serbian-language labels and private-label bags available on request. The range is subject to availability and includes acacia among other types.
What to include in your enquiry
Send the product type, the quantity in bags, pallets or trucks, the bag size, the delivery address in Serbia, the Incoterm you prefer, your target date and any private-label requirement. Virovo Promet then confirms in writing what is available, the net load per pallet or truck, the packaging and labelling, the documents we can issue for that lot and the commercial terms.
Virovo Promet is a family-owned charcoal wholesaler in Skopje, North Macedonia, founded in 1990, exporting full-container loads of hardwood charcoal across Europe and beyond. Skopje is a short drive from the Serbian border, so you are welcome to visit the office and warehouse, Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 16:00, or to ask for a video call.
Do you deliver full trucks to Belgrade?
Yes. A full 13.6 m truck of about 33 Euro pallets runs from Skopje via Tabanovce–Preševo and the E75 to Belgrade, Novi Sad or Niš. The delivery date and Incoterm are confirmed in the quotation.
Can I order just a few pallets for Serbia?
Yes. Smaller lots go as groupage, and delivery usually starts from one pallet. Tell us the delivery point and we quote the freight.
Is the charcoal duty-free in Serbia under CEFTA?
Only lots that qualify as originating receive preferential treatment. We confirm per lot which origin document can be issued and never promise preferential origin in advance.
Which charcoal is best for a ćevabdžinica?
Restaurants with long service hours usually choose Marabu for its long burn, while classic grills often use oak or beech. All figures are indicative and vary by lot; ask for a sample bag or a spec sheet.
Can you print Serbian labels or our own brand?
Yes. Multilingual labels are standard, and private-label bags are available on request for most types, with extra lead time.
